Short answer

In Clinizy Care, open IPD and the Nursing tab, then press the patient’s card. The chart opens on Medications, which is the MAR. Press a dose marked due or overdue, add a note if needed, then choose Given, Held or Refused.

Before you start

  • MAR means medication chart. It lists each dose due for an admitted patient.
  • Medicine orders must be on the chart. A doctor adds them on the same tab.

Steps

  1. Open IPD and the Nursing tab. Patients with doses due are listed, most overdue first.

  2. Press the patient’s card. The chart opens on the Medications tab.

Tip:Not listed? Press Manage on their bed in the bed map, then open Medications.

  3. Check that the date at the top says Today.

Careful:On any other day, the dose is saved against that day. The screen asks you to confirm first.

  4. Press a dose marked Due or Overdue. A small box opens.

The Medications tab of the chart, with a dose slot marked Due and the Give dose button for as-needed medicines highlighted.
    Step 4 of 7
  5. Type a short note in the box if the next person needs to know something.

  6. Press Given, Held or Refused. The dose shows its new status.

The Record dose box open on a dose, with the Given, Held and Refused buttons highlighted.
    Step 6 of 7

Tip:If someone already recorded the dose, the screen tells you.

  7. Press Give dose under PRN Medications for as-needed medicines, then choose a status the same way.

Tip:Some show a daily limit. When it is reached, the button is switched off.

If something goes wrong

What do Given, Held and Refused mean?

Given means the patient took the dose. Held means the dose was kept back for now. Refused means the patient did not take it. Each entry is saved with the time and your name.

Can I record a dose for another day?

Yes. Use Previous day or Next day. The screen warns that the entry is back-dated and asks you to confirm before it saves.

What is a PRN medicine?

PRN means as needed. These medicines sit in their own list with a Give dose button instead of fixed time slots.
