Short answer

In Clinizy Care, open Emergency and press Register ER arrival. Choose the triage colour, pick an existing, new or unidentified patient, and enter how they arrived and the main complaint. Add the triage vitals if you have them, then press Register. The case joins the live board, red cases first.

Before you start

  • Have the patient’s details ready. If the patient is unknown, you only need the gender.
  • A triage colour is required to register an arrival.

Steps

  1. Open Emergency from the left menu and press Register ER arrival.

The Emergency page with the Register ER arrival button, the triage counts and the first case card highlighted.
    Step 1 of 8
  2. Choose the Triage category: red, yellow, green or black.

The Register ER arrival form with red chosen, an unidentified patient and triage vitals filled in. The triage colours, the Unidentified option and the Register button are highlighted.
    Step 2 of 8
  3. Choose Existing patient, New patient or Unidentified, then fill in the details.

Tip:A new patient needs a name, a 10-digit mobile number, gender and age. An unidentified patient needs only the gender.

  4. Pick the Arrival and type the Chief complaint.

Tip:You can also add who brought the patient, with their phone number.

  5. Enter the Triage vitals you have. The form marks a suggested colour, but you decide.

  6. Choose the ER doctor if one is known, then press Register.

Tip:The case opens with its ER number, so you can carry on at once.

  7. Watch the board. Red cases come first, then whoever has waited longest.

Tip:A case that has waited too long is marked overdue.

  8. Open a card and use Re-triage when the patient’s condition changes: pick the new colour, then press Save triage.

An ER case open on the Overview tab, with the Re-triage colour buttons and the Save triage button highlighted.
    Step 8 of 8

If something goes wrong

What do the four triage colours mean?

Red is Immediate, yellow is Urgent, green is Minor and black is Dead / expectant. These are the hints shown under each colour.

Can I register someone I cannot identify?

Yes. Choose Unidentified and pick the gender. The patient gets a temporary UHID. Later, press Identify patient on the case to add their details or merge the record. By default, doctors do not see that button.

Who closes an ER case?

The ER doctor or nurse. Open the case, go to the Disposition tab, choose how it ended and press Record disposition. The front desk cannot close a case.
