Short answer

In Clinizy Care, open IPD and stay on the Bed Map tab. The counts at the top show occupied, free, cleaning, reserved and out-of-use beds. Each tile has a colour: red has a patient, green is free, amber needs cleaning, blue is reserved and grey is out of use. Press Manage on a red bed to open that stay.

Before you start

  • Wards and beds must be set up first. An admin adds them on the Settings tab of IPD.
  • Admit the patient first if you cannot find their bed.

Steps

  1. Open IPD from the left menu. The Bed Map tab lists every ward and bed.

  2. Read the counts at the top: total beds, then occupied, available, cleaning, reserved and maintenance.

The IPD page on the Bed Map tab, with the bed counts at the top and the colour legend highlighted.
    Step 2 of 6

Tip:The bar and the percentage show how full your beds are.

  3. Read the legend: red has a patient, green is free, amber needs cleaning, blue is reserved and grey is out of use.

Tip:Each tile also spells its status in words, so you never rely on colour alone.

  4. Press a ward name to fold its beds away, or press it again to open them.

Tip:This browser remembers which wards you folded.

  5. Press Manage on a red bed to open that patient’s stay.

The General Ward on the bed map: the ward name that folds the beds, a red bed with its Manage button, and an amber bed with Mark ready, all highlighted.
    Step 5 of 6

Tip:Free and reserved beds show Admit for staff who can admit patients.

  6. Press Refresh to update the map at once.

Tip:The map also refreshes by itself every 30 seconds.

If something goes wrong

Why is a bed amber?

Amber means the bed needs cleaning before the next patient. After housekeeping, press Mark ready on the tile. Your clinic can switch off cleaning after discharge, and beds are then free at once.

How do I hold a bed for a patient?

Press Status on a free bed, choose Reserved, add an optional note and press Save status. Billing staff do not see this button.

Why can I not see Transfer or Status?

Those buttons need permission to edit wards. Admin, doctors, nurses and the front desk have it. Billing staff can open a stay but cannot move patients.
